Jalen Poyser Signs with the Saskatchewan Rattlers
Former Canadian National Team player joins the Rattlers

Saskatoon, Sask. (July 1, 2021) - The Saskatchewan Rattlers, member club of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), are excited to announce the signing of Jalen Poyser.
Poyser - a late addition to the Rattlers roster - will suit up for his first game in a Rattlers jersey on July 1 as the Rattlers take on the Fraser Valley Bandits in Abbotsford, BC.
Poyser, an Ontario native, has a decorated and well-accomplished resume. As a high schooler, Poyser attended the powerhouse program Findlay Prep based out of Henderson, Nevada. He would later transfer high schools back to his home province and attend another powerhouse program, the Athlete Institute, based out of Orangeville, ON. There, Poyser would receive national recognition as he was ranked the number 1 Canadian High school player in 2014 by North Pole Hoops. The 6-foot-4 guard would then commit to playing his collegiate career at the University of Nevada- Las Vegas.
Poyser spent two years playing for the Running Rebels. During those two years, he appeared in 63 games and averaged 7.3 points and 2.3 rebounds. As a junior, Poyser would transfer to St. Bonaventure where he appeared in 27 games and averaged 9.6 points and 2.1 rebounds. Poyser played his final season of collegiate basketball at McNeese State.
Following his collegiate career, Poyser signed with Zlatorog, a professional team based out of Slovenia. Here Poyser would appear in five games, averaging 6.6 points and 2.0 rebounds.
In addition to Poyser's collegiate and professional career has also represented Canada at the international level. Poyser was a member of the 2015 Canada U19 FIBA World Championship roster. He helped his team to a fifth-place finish in the tournament while averaging 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game throughout the tournament.
The CEBL is currently in its third season in 2021 which started on June 24, 2021 following the success of this past year's CEBL Summer Series in St. Catharines, Ont., which saw millions of viewers across Canada and around the world tune in starting July 25 to watch 26 games played over 15 days in a single-site league competition. The CEBL became the first professional sports league in Canada to return to play after the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in mid-March shut down sports across the country.
