Notable
An actuarial science major, Hillis is a five-time Academic All-Canadian and a five-time recipient of Dean's List honours. His numerous academic honours also include the prestigious Academie Silver Scholarship, which he's earned three times during his time at the University.
As a volunteer, Hillis has helped raise money for the local burn unit fund, created videos to help kids stay active during the pandemic, visited schools to talk with students, and advocated for mental health while providing advice and resources.
Attended Dr. Martin LeBoldus HS in Regina before coming to the U of R ... won provincial and city championships with LeBoldus in both his Grade 11 and Grade 12 seasons ... played for Team Saskatchewan at the 2015 17U National Championship in Halifax ... older brother Samuel Hillis was a teammate on the Cougars from 2016 to 2020 ... father James Hillis played five seasons for the Cougars in the 1980s and also guided the U of R's men's basketball team for 19 seasons during a head coaching career that spanned from 1994 to 2013.
