Averaged 10.5 points, 1.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 133 collegiate games … Mathews finished his college career as the school leader in made three-pointers (247) and his 1,390 points ranks 17th on USC's all-time scoring list.

2019-20 (With University of Southern California): Averaged 13.4 points, 1.4 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 31 games for the Trojans … Started 28 of the Trojans 31 games … Recorded a season-high 23 points against Arizona State on Feb. 29 … Dished a season-high 5 assists against Harvard on December 1 … Recorded a game-winning basket against rival UCLA on senior night at USC …

2018-19: Averaged 12.6 points and was one of two Trojans to start all 33 games … Finished second on the team with 78 three-point baskets made, which tied him for the seventh-most in a single season by a Trojan … He made at least one three-point basket in 32 of 33 games (not Feb. 9 vs. Colorado, snapping a 28-game streak) and has made at least one in 37 of his last 38 games … Mathews led USC in minutes played with 1,096 … Was 20th in scoring average and 10th in three-point percentage (39.2) among Pac-12 players … Scored a season-high 21 points vs. Missouri State on Nov. 20 …

2017-18: Played in 34 games, making 23 starts, and averaged 9.3 points and 2.6 rebounds … Was second on the team with 58 3-pointers made and his 42.3 shooting percentage from beyond the arc led USC and was sixth among Pac-12 players … Six times he made four or more 3-pointers in a game … Scored in double figures 13 times, scoring a career-high 27 in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinal win over Oregon...he made a career-best seven 3-pointers in that game and was named to the All-Pac-12 Tournament Team … Mathews grabbed a career-best seven rebounds and scored 18 points vs. Lehigh on Nov. 22 …

2016-17: Played in 35 games, including three starts, and averaged 7.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game … Finished the season fourth on the team in three-pointers made (42), third in steals (31) and sixth in minutes played (715) … Scored a season-high 26 points with five three-pointers made (5 of 8) and five rebounds. vs. Wyoming on Dec. 23 in Las Vegas Classic title game, also a career-high six steals in the game … Started his first game on Jan. 22 vs. Arizona State and had 14 points and three steals … Scored 18 points and grabbed a season-best six rebounds at Washington State on Feb. 4 … Scored 7 points on 2-for-2 shooting from three-point range in USC’s First Four win over Providence on March 15.

• Graduated from Santa Monica High in 2016 and served as the Vikings’ team captain, leading them in scoring with 24.1 points per game and averaging 8.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists
• Was named the 2016 CIF Southern Section Division 1A Player of the Year
• Mathews was the team MVP three times and graduated as Santa Monica High’s all-time leading scorer 
• Led Santa Monica High School to a Southern Section 1A title during his senior season scoring 33 points in the championship game against Temecula Valley High School
• Was named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament team in 2018
• Was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team and the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team in 2020
• He has three siblings, Jordan, Sabrina and Akilah, and his father Phil Mathews is a basketball coach at River City College
• Phil has also coached at his alma mater UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton (assistant), Ventura CC, San Francisco, San Bernardino Valley CC, Nebraska (assistant) and UCLA (assistant)
• Older brother Jordan played for Gonzaga in the 2017 NCAA Championship game after beginning his career at the University of California
• Jordan plays professionally in Russia for BC Enisey
